Our journey began in Athens with a stay at the Athens Mansion Hotel with a rooftop bar/view to die for. The rooms were spacious and clean and amazing close to fun restaurants, shopping and sites most within walking distance!

We went on the Celebrity Cruise Ship Eclipse for a 10 night adventure around the Mediterranean. It was a beautiful ship and the crew were very friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of space it had throughout.

Breathtaking views, winding walkways, ruins, traditions, friends and laughter is what this Greek Island had to offer. I could see myself staying here forever!

The cat obviously is still a cherished animal even after hundreds of years at these ruins!

Stromboli was pretty active when we were sailing by! It truly was a magnificent site.

Celebrity had a slot tournament and as a gift for my husbands 60th birhtday the kids entered him and he won!

The time that we visited happened at the same time as the visit from the King and Queen of England which was a rather big deal if you follow history. It is the first British Monarch and Pope to pray side by side since Henry VIII split from Rome more than 500 years ago. It was quite a day! Also it is the celebration of the Holy Jubilee Year in Rome, which only occurs every 25 years and we were able to witness the pilgrimage of different countries coming to pass the sacred doors. There were so many in precessional that I could not see the end. It was quite something to see.

The ornate beauty of the intricate works of art that cover almost every square inch of the Vatican is breathtaking. You feel as if your eyes and mind are on over load with each step and you don't know where to look next, what to take a picture of, what to remember. Each room had a story from when it started, who influenced the art and why it was "chosen" as it's place in the room.

In the Chapel itself, we were not allowed to take any pictures. As we walked down a small set of stairs and entered through a guarded door, my eyes filled with tears as I immediately looked up and saw the outstretched hands on the ceiling. My husband took my hand to lead me to the center of the room where for that brief momment, we witnessed the miracle of that work by Michelangelo. My heart was full, my bucket list filled, now on to the next adventure!

The tower was everything and more! I found myself and others actually turning our heads to make it seem straight?

The Cathedral is amazing and houses famous medieval art built back in 1063 ! It has a famous hexagonal pulpit made by Giovanni Pisano completed around 1310.
It felt like such an honor to visit such a beautiful and sacred place.

The color of the ocean, the food, the underground city, the bay filled with super yachts. . . the French Riveria did not disappoint!

I absolutely adored Palma. The castle has been the home of kings and royal families for years, a refuge from the plague epidemics, a military fortress during the Revolt of the Brotherhoods, a military prison and some of the visitors say that it is haunted as well.

I could have sat in this Basilica forever! It has to be one of the most interesting, beautifully decorated "hide and seek" places I have ever seen. While walking around admiring something you would look down and see that you were stepping on a stone dated 1327 with an inscription on it.

The trip ended up with a day spent in Barcelona and of course a visit to Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter and FC Barcelona Futbol Club! Even though we did not have the time to go in, just the site of such a place was amazing!

We recently took the "middles" granddaughters on a Halloween on the High Seas Disney Cruise. It was fun to watch these preteen girls become kids again, dressing up to go trick or treating with grandpa and grandma.
From swimming with the pigs to becoming a pirate, celebrating Rapunzels birthday to fireworks at sea, Disney Cruise Line makes sure that memories are made!

Not only did we enjoy the Halloween festivities but we also got to pull a prank on grandpa along with another 100 men on the ship as the wives secretly bought them all the same shirt and had them wear it on the same day to dinner! They didn't have a clue what was happening.
In February, we followed our dreams and traveled to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, watch whales, swim in the Blue Lagoon, and explore ice caves! We flew non-stop from Seattle to Keflavík on Icelandair, which was terrific. You're greeted in Icelandic, but English is taught from grade school, so there’s no need to worry about trying to pronounce their 13- to 64-character-long words - although it is kind of fun!

Disney does it like no other when it comes to family fun! Trick or Treating even for Adults, Pirate night with Fireworks at sea and all you can eat ice cream......what more can a kid or grandparent want?

Disney Cruise is a great way to still get the magic without all the stress! Let me know if you want to know more!
